• 1993

    In 1993, he graduated from Adana Science High School.

  • 1999

    He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1999. In the same year, he started to work at SSK Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic. He had the opportunity to work with Dr. Mehmet Altun, Dr. Mehmet Uğur Özbaydar and Selçuk Örsel, at the Okmeydani Orthopedics Clinic, which is one of the few centers in the arthroscopic shoulder-knee surgery field of that period. In 2004 , he completed his medical specialty training.

  • 2004

    In 2004-2005, he started to work at the Erzincan Military Hospital to complete his military duty. From this period onwards, he began to perform surgical treatments in the arthroscopic shoulder-knee surgery field. He attended the courses organized in the Arthroscopy field and became member of associations.

  • 2005

    At the end of 2005 joined the Manus Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery group. He started to serve in the fields of orthopedic trauma and sports traumatology within the group. He studied in the Microsurgery-Traumatic Hand Surgery fields within the group under the supervision of Dr. Levent Yalçın and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Alp. During this period, he completed the trainings of the AO Fracture Treatment Group, which is worldwide accepted, & became an AO licensed and
    instructor. He applied treatments in minimally invasive fracture surgery field.

  • 2012

    Until the end of 2012, he served as a full-time or consultant physician in the fields of orthopedic trauma, sports traumatology, shoulder and knee surgery, in all institutions where Manus Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery group served.

  • 2013

    He established the Shoulder Surgery Department at Liv Hospital Ulus. Taner Bekmezci played an important role in the establishment and development of this department and served as a consultant orthopedic surgeon.

  • 2014

    He started to work as an Assistant Professor in Bahcesehir University Faculty of Medicine.

  • March 2015

    He completed his training in MAKOplasty (Robotic Knee and Hip prosthesis) at the Nicholson Center in Orlando, Florida.

  • May 2015

    As he was awarded the Degenerative Joint Fellowship of the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), to increase his experience in sports injuries, he worked at Evangelisches Krankenhous under the supervision of Prim. Univ. Dose. Dr. Thomas Müellner.

  • November 2015

    In 2015, he started to work in Acibadem Taksim Hospital in order to establish Department of Sports Injuries. He set up the Department of sports injuries and managed the department. During the time he worked as a consultant shoulder surgeon, he increased the quality and recognition of the department.

  • October 2017

    As of October 2017, he continues studies and treatments in the fields of calcification, sports injuries and fracture treatments of shoulder, knee and hip joints, in his office in the Vital Fulya Plaza.
